The first Greek telemedicine application in ophthalmology, created within the framework of the "Low Vision Assistance Program" of the AUTh Medical School, will be presented at the "Greek Conference on Low Vision with International Participation".
This is an innovative telemedicine platform for self-assessment that partially sighted individuals can use, with simultaneous transmission of the results to the attending physician. The goal is to inform the doctor about early changes that may indicate disease progression.
The conference will take place on September 17-18 at KEDEA (arrival time 9:30 am) as part of the "Low Vision Assistance Program", which, in addition to the telemedicine and self-assessment platform, also includes the implementation of visual and electronic aids for partially sighted individuals.
The conference will showcase the latest developments in low vision assistance capabilities, the latest advances in international research on vision-related conditions causing low vision, prospects for treatment, and demonstrations of aid applications.
